Step: 4 Next, right-click on the Backup folder and choose the ‘Rename’ option from the list. Type “Backup. old” and hit the Enter button to save the name. Thereafter, you can exit from the Explorer window.

Step: 5 Now, open an elevated Command Prompt window. For that, press and hold the Shift key from the keyboard and right-click on a blank location in the right pane of the Explorer window.

Once the menu appears, release the Shift key and choose the ‘Open Command Prompt’ option from the list. If you are unable to locate that, then open the PowerShell window from here.

If you download iTunes from the official website of Apple, then use the command “mklink /J “%APPDATA%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup” “X:\iphonebackups”.

Step: 6 After that, create a link to the new backup location. Enter the below command to save the backup to a new location. It will create a new folder called ‘backup’ where the backups will be used to store.

Or, if you install it from the Windows/Microsoft Store, then type “mklink /J “C:\Users\ [USERNAME]\Apple\MobileSync\Backup” “X:\iphonebackups”.

Don’t forget to replace the X with your preferred driver’s letter. Hit the Enter key to run the command.

Now, open the ‘backup. old’ folder once again. You will see the Backup folder is created here. It is the link you created to the new backup location.

Step: 7 Now, you can copy your old backups to the new location. To do this, follow the given below steps:

Click twice on the folder and choose all the folders by holding the Ctrl key from the keyboard.

Copy them by using the combination of the C and Ctrl keys.

Go back to the previous page and open the Backup folder.

Paste the selected folders inside this folder.

It will take a few seconds to complete the process. Once you move all the files, you can delete the ‘Backup. old’ folder.
